A place to learn a new language, the Koehler Method of Dog Training, which is an entire language of communication between owner(s) and their dog. Let the journey begin...
I so apologize for delay in responding to this posted EXAM. This is a great effort! You are so diligent and thoughtful. I can see how much you are working to get this right. However, this entire EXAM is to be done on 1 video, and the entire EXAM is to be done silently. Please redo.
Pointers: 1) Work on concrete surface, like your patio. The grass is really hard to do crisp turns on so it's better to do EXAMs on a hard surface.
2) Please watch your footwork. On the first Sit/Stay, you left Cosmos with your left foot, the Stay is done leaving Cosmos on your right foot which you did correctly on the 2nd Sit/Stay.
3) When you first started heeling, your right arm was tensed up so the "J" loop was non-existant. Once you relaxed, farther in this video, the much needed "J" loop was present so the direction that have Cosmos was clean and clear.
4) Correct immediately for barking on a Sit/Stay. HOW to correct? Simply step towards him, towards his face, give a rapid upward Sit Correction, and then back away from him again. Do NOT step.back to him and start over, do NOT repeat your command.
Week 3 Test 2 is posted 🙂

Does this all make sense?

I am having some serious computer glitch issues and turns out so too is Jessi. That is the source of the delay in responding🤦♀️
ReplyDeleteKaren could send Roxanne and I a group treat message when you do an exam. That would be much appreciated😁
